SRINAGAR: Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur on Friday quashed detention of two persons namely Mudasir Ahmad Wani and Naseer Ahmad Dar and also directed for releasing the detenues, if not required in any other case.
While quashing detention orders No 32/DMP/PSA/20 dated October 28, 2020 passed by District Magistrate Pulwama and No 65/DMK/PSA/19 dated August 23, 2019 issued by the District Magistrate Kulgam, Justice Dhriaj Singh Thakur observed that before passing the detention order, the concerned authority must satisfy himself of likelihood of petitioner being released on bail and that satisfaction ought to be reached on cogent material. Available cogent material is likely of having a bail application moved in the matter, but not obtaining a bail order, he observed.
