TRUE FOR J&K ALSO

The demand raised by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for developing indigenous anti-drone technology to effectively check the cross-border smuggling of drugs and weapons through unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) also holds great significance as far as J&K is concerned because here also the drone threat is looming large as drugs cartel operating from Pakistan are using these flying objects to smuggle narcotics towards this side of the border. The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has sought the aforesaid ultra-modern technology for Punjab because it is a border state with Pakistan situated on the other side. The same holds true for the J&K as it is also facing the same threat rather the threat perception here is quite bigger than that of Punjab as rogue nation Pakistan has even used this technology to bomb Jammu Airport in recent time besides also smuggling arms and ammunition as was came to fore in many cases especially the one in which a drone from across the border are targeted and ammunition was recovered well within the Indian territory. If India will develop an anti-drone technology, it will help curb the cross-border smuggling of drugs and weapons through drones. The biggest threat to India is from the drones coming from Pakistani side, no doubt that China also used them for recce purpose along the LAC and things in this direction have come to fore many a times. Looking into the current world scenario one can say that the technology plays a vital role as far as running the affairs of the governments is concerned as in the case of Russia-Ukraine-NATO conflict wherein technology has a critical role to play. This example and many others in today’s world tend to point out that the government should pay proper attention towards acquiring the latest technology to counter enemy drones and other threats which are the matter of concern as far as security, safety and well being of the citizens of the country are concerned. Indigenous anti-drone technology is a good option and the country should ask the researchers to start working on this as importing the same will be a costly affair and not a profitable deal.
