STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: In continuation of celebration of Independence Week-2021, J&K Sports Council on Sunday organized basketball tournament at Shastri Nagar, here. On the occasion, Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Chief Account Officer of the Sports Councilm was the chief guest whereas Harjinder Singh Chief Coach (SAI) was the Guest of Honour. In boys section, first match was played between Sparrow and Dogra. Both the team played spectacular game but luck favoured the Sparrow which won the match by seven (44-37) points. The second match was won by Local Club which defeated Falcon Club by 28 (40-12) points . In girls section, Hoopers beat Kamikaze by 12 (32-20) points. MSP defeated Rookies by 8 (60-52) points. The tournament is being organised with the joint efforts of Satish Chopra-Chief Basketball Coach, Ranbir Singh, Sushma Jamwal-basketball coach and Manoj Solanki, Gourav Rajwal, Amanjot, Jaskirat and Kiran officiated the matches. Dalbir Mehta, S.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Amarjeet Singh besides basketball players were present.
