STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: To move forward and remove the bottlenecks in the construction of the Shahpur Kandi Dam, a meeting was held today here under the Chairmanship of Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKWRRA) G.S. Jha, here at the Authority’s office. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langar; Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Yadav and Chief Engineer, Ravi Tawi Irrigation Canals Department Jammu represented the J&K side. The Punjab side was represented by the General Manager and Chief Engineer Shahpur Kandi Dam Project. Threadbare discussions and deliberations were held on different issues and decisions were taken for the speedy acquisition of land. The Chairperson stressed for the joint inspection and monitoring of the project works, besides frequent interaction between the Chief Engineers of the two sides to sort out any issues. The Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner Kathua to immediately start processing the land acquisition cases.
