STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: In a bizarre incident, a group of Gujjar community attacked Gaddi community persons including women folks with lethal weapons on Tuesday in which more than half of dozen persons of the community got injured. Gaddi Sabha Youth President Kuldeep Kumar said that Gujjar community attacked Gaddi community members at wee hours. He said that once again, Gujjar community members assaulted them in local area of Ladha of Tehsil Chenani and some part fall under jurisdiction of District Ramban at village Kariya Billawat. Those were injured in attack have been identified as Mohinder Singh, Raflu Kumar, Om Parkash, Hem Raj, Barfo Devi, Neelama Devi and many others. Receiving the information police rushed the spot and shifted injured to nearby PHC for treatment. Kuldeep said Panchayat Billawat, Sawani and Karma Tehsil and District Ramban having the population of Gaddi community. “Hilly areas under District Udhampur Ladhadhar and Shankhpal are beautiful places for tourism related activities and there is lot of grazing grass grounds for cattle, keeping bad attention and with a motive to encroach the prime land some of Gujjars Nawads come here from Jammu, Kathua and Samba for a period of 4 months in summer season and create conflict and disputes”, he said adding that Gujjar community members also threaten them of terrorist attacks and ask them to stopped grazing cattle on forest and state land which is being used by Gaddi community from century old. However receiving the information, DC Ramban and SSP Ramban went to the spot assured to solve the issue. Kuldeep Kumar President Youth All J&K Gaddi Sabha also urged LG to personally intervene into the matter and ensure safety and security of community.
