STATE TIMES NEWS NOWSHERA : As a part of series of activities regarding 75th Independence Day Celebrations, the Department of Punjabi and Department of Chemistry of GDC Nowshera organised an online Essay Writing Competition on the topic “Role of Freedom Fighters in India’s Independence” on Wednesday under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”. The Event was presided over by worthy Principal of the college Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma. The main objective of the event was to instil the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism among the students and to showcase the contribution of freedom fighters especially the unsung heroes during the course of India’s freedom struggle. A large number of students from various colleges across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the event. The Jury members Prof. Rajat Bhardwaj, Prof. Inam ul Haq and Prof. Harshal Sharma declared the result. Top three positions were awarded E-Certificates. The first position was bagged by Miss Shreya Gumble of GDC Nowshera. The second position was awarded to Miss Priya Kapoor GDC Nowshera. While Gagandeep Kour and Savi Bhasin of GDC Nowshera shared third position in the competition. The event was organized by Prof. Sanjay Kumar HOD Chemistry and Prof Gurjeet Singh HOD Punjabi, GDC Nowshera.
