COVID-19 awareness week concludes at GMC Jammu

JAMMU: MBBS students of GMC Jammu have been performing week long activities to generate awareness among staff, students and visitors to GMC regarding the importance of preventive measures to be observed strictly by one and all to prevent transmission of COVID-19 among general population and healthcare workers to prevent the resurgence of the pandemic (3rd wave).
Students conducted regular CAB awareness marches within the GMC Campus and taught CAB to defaulters. On Wednesday, students participated in various academic and co-curricular activities including poster making competition, lectures on CAB and a quiz on COVID-19 in which six teams of students participated.
The programme was attended by Principal and Dean, Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Prof and Head Physiology, Dr Sunil Sachdev, Professor and Head Medicine, Dr Vijay Kundal, Professor Pathology, Dr Jyotsana Gandotra, Associate Professor Community Medicine, Dr Rakesh Bahl, Assistant Professor Surgery, Dr Kailash Thakur and galaxy of doctors and students of the institution. The judges for poster competition were Dr Sunil Sachdev, Dr Vijay Kundal and Dr Jyotsana Gandotra. The winners of poster competition includeDr Bonita and Dr Shivani, PG scholars Anatomy got first prize while Kritika Mahajan and Sarvika Gupta, students of Second professional MBBS bagged second and Smriti Thakur and Sonika, students Second professional got third prize. These activities were organized by Dr Rakesh Bahl, Coordinator Academics for undergraduate students. Rupambir Singh and Farheen anchored the programme.
Quiz was conducted by Chahat Mahajan, Japleen Kour and Rameez, Students coordinators. The winners of quiz include Ritik and Rihit got first, Agosh Bhat and Deepender bagged second and Akhil and Aman secured third prize. Principal and Dean expressed satisfaction and complimented the students for their whole hearted participation in all the activities and encouraged them to carry on with these noble initiatives in the best interest of everyone.
