Article 370 was a transitory and temporary provision of the constitution and it took the nation 70 years for its repeal and it should not be made a permanent feature of the constitution in any way. Article 370 of constitution is again in the news because of Gupkar Declaration which has demanded restoration of the abrogated article before going to Prime Minister’s All Party Meeting, held in New Delhi. The Gupkar declaration staunchly vouched for restoration of the article, but it has come to fore that it was not to be considered by the Prime Minister and Home Minister as the matter is subjudice before the Supreme Court of India as the Gupkaris have taken the matter of abrogation of article to the SC for adjudication. Digvijay Singh, the fire brand leader of Congress has also said that if congress comes to power, the party will consider the restoration of the Article 370. The fact of the matter is that the controversial Article 370 has been abrogated by the centre government of the NDA. The Article 370 has been done away with by passing a resolution by the supreme law making body of the country. The parliament of the country has abrogated the controversial article of the constitution of India with the due process of the law. Article 370 is now a history and it should not be restored in anyway. The article gave special powers and special status to the Jammu and Kashmir and it has always created wall of mistrust and distrust between the union government and the state government. Rightly the article which was an obstacle in the free flow of the constitution of India in the Jammu and Kashmir was lawfully repealed by the parliament of India and the talk of its restoration is humbug and should not be raised. The article of 370 has been repealed for the fuller integration of the erstwhile disturbed state of Jammu and Kashmir with India and now the talk of restoration of the repealed article has no meaning and it should not be considered by the powers. The abrogation of the article 370 is a historical decision of the centre government and it has greater ramifications for the unity and integrity of the nation. Now, talk of its restoration is very much out of the question. Much water has flown the river Jhelum and the Article 370 cannot and should not be restored come what may. The regional leaders and satraps have milked the controversial article much and had always taken shelter in the Article 370.The nullified article bared the parliament of India from legislating in the state. The Article 370 was the cause of the separatism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and it is so good that the article has been annulled by the government of India by a due process of the law. The tones and tones of the tax-payers money has been sent to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir but our regional leaders got away with the money without any accountability and responsibility. When any one talked about the loot of the public money, a great hue and cry was created by the regional satraps and it was the cause of the underdevelopment of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. In fact the annulled article had become a point and issue of discard between the centre government and the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir and its annulment is in the interests of the people of the union territory. The thousands of crores of money have gone to the pockets of the political bosses of Jammu and Kashmir because of the article 370 of the constitution and when it has become a dead horse due to its abrogation, it is a cause of satisfaction and jubilation for all the nationalist forces leave alone the regional satraps who thrived on the continuance of the annulled article. The people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir have benefitted by the abrogation of the article 370 and only the separatist lobby and Gupkar alliance is asking for the restoration of the article. It is very unbecoming and unfortunate that the congress party is talking the language of the separatists and Pakistanis as the congress party is demanding the restoration of the article 370. BJP has done well to have said that even after seven births the congress cannot restore the annulled article. In the erstwhile state there was the notion that to seek and do expenditure is our right and to pour the money is centre’s duty and with the abrogation of the article 370 this notion was buried in the ground. Even the separatism and terrorism has got a big blow by annulment of the article 370 and thus to talk about its restoration is anti national and anti people act and it should not be done. There was a great need for the fuller integration of the Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian union and the repealing of the article served the great purpose of the full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Article 370 was a bone of contention between the state and the centre government and its repealing has served the purpose of the nationalists and rationalists. Now after the repeal of the controversial article the artificial walls of distrust between this part of the country and the union of India have fallen like the house of cards and therefore it is so good to boast of the abrogation of the controversial article 370. Now that the article 370 is a history, the government of India should not consider the restoration of the annulled article 370 in any case. The repealing of Article 370 will lead to the development of this part of the country and hence the demand of the restoration of article has no meaning at all.
