ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL

There is a popular saying that all is well that ends well. No doubt at the end of Tokyo Olympics India got an encouragement from Neeraj Chopra’s splendid performance. India got place on podium after a huge gap of time. Moreover the performances of other participants was also very refined and skilful in this Olympic. Many participants missed their medal with a narrow escape. In golf, shooting and wrestling many players from India missed the opportunity by thin margins, but these Olympic games would be remembered for struggle and commitment of India’s players. In many new events our players have shown their competency and caliber. This year, especially in hockey, India has shown the grit and courage, thereby restoring the past glory. Due to COVID pandemic many players were not fully prepare for event, but they participated in this gala event and has shown their competency. We have won seven medals in different events, higher ever in any Olympic. However, for a nation with such a gigantic population, number of medals is meager. We have seen that many small nations are far ahead from us in their medals tally, but here, in India we compare our own performance in Olympics. Now Government and various other sports organisations are continuously giving priority to sports activities across the country. Under Khelo India Abhiyan, a lot of stadiums have been constructed. Numerous coaches, instructors and other experts have been hired to train our players. At school and university level, we are giving stress on various sports activities as well. In present time, Games and sports are mandatory for young people to built confidence in their life. With the participation in these activities, young people stay away from drugs and other intoxicating things in their life. Only an energetic and healthy population of young people can lead the nation in right direction. If a player of a country performs well in Olympics, then he becomes an inspiration for rest of the young generation. The young people of our country have also got a lot of inspiration from splendid performance of our players. When such players are respected all around, rest of youth get encouragement and inspiration. Now the entire nation is giving honour to our heroes. People are welcoming these players with postive gesture. Goverment and other sport organisation are also giving a lot of monetary benefits to the players who have brought laurels for our nation. Even the Prime Minister Narender Modi has personally motivated the players. No doubt these things are mandatory for moral boosting of these fighters, but instead of giving a lot of monetary benefits to only one or two players we should focus on overall development of sports infrastructure in the country. More sports stadium and sports centres with modern facilities should be constructed in our country. So, other budding players got an opportunity to show their caliber and potential. Mostly, our talented players belong to a very poor background having no source of income for their practice and to buy costly equipments of sports. If there is provision of well-furnished sports centres at every corner of our country then we can produce more such heroes and talented persons. This time, we have got chance to stand on podium, but for such a big nation it is a very meager contribution. As we know our neighbouring countries are continuously excelling in various sports events. It is not that there is dearth of talent in our country, need of the hour is that how we can give them the opportunity to excel and shine. Many golden young people are still hibernating in our villages. We are very fortunate that our is the only nation of the world with great percentage of young generation. If the youths of our country get the right opportunity, then we will show the world that we are not less than anyone. Hopefully in next Olympic in Paris our players will prove this thing in front of the world. Good performance in Tokyo Olympics has infused a new energy among our youths and young generation. Need of the hour is that we must focus on these sports activities from the very beginning level. We should start our preparation from now for the next Olympics because there is a saying that if you sweat more in practice, then it would be easier in competition. Many more golden boys and girls are eagerly waiting to show their performance in coming Olympics and hope they will bring laurels to country in sports.
