JAMMU: The government departments across Jammu Division held colourful functions to celebrate the Independence Day with great zeal and national spirit.
Directorate of Information and Public Relations Jammu celebrated the 75th Independence Day by hoisting a National Flag in the office Lawns. Joint Director Information, Namrita Dogra, Deputy Director Information (PR), Gul Hassan Kraipak, Youth Information Officer, Imran Rashid Kataria; Information Officer, Ashu Kumari, Cultural Officer, Parul Khajuria, Field publicity Officer, Shivani Deonia and staff of DIPR were present at the Flag hoisting ceremony. The participating artists were Balbir Singh, Sr. Cultural Assistant, Banti Kumar, Sr. Cultural Assistant, Rajid, Sr Cultural Assistant and Mukesh Kumar.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Directorate of Health Services Jammu. Director Health Services, Dr. Renu Sharma, unfurled the National Flag in presence of all officers and officials of the Directorate. This was followed by singing of the National Anthem by the staff of DHS.
J&K Sports Council celebrated the 75th Independence day at Greenfield Gandhi Nagar. Coaches, Managers, Groundsman and others were part of the celebration. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Chief Account Officer, J&K Sports Council hoisted the National Flag amid singing of National Anthem.
Directorate of Animal Husbandry Jammu marked the Independence Day wherein the National Tricolour was unfurled in the presence of the senior officers and staff from the Directorate and associated offices. Flag unfurling was followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
Department of Wildlife Protection Jammu and Kashmir held a function at Wildlife Complex Manda Jammu to mark Independence Day celebration. Chief Wildlife Warden J&K, S K Gupta hoisted the National Flag. Programme was attended by Dr Kumar MKIFS, Regional Wildlife Warden Jammu; Anil Kumar Atri Wildlife Warden Jammu; Amit Sharma Wildlife Warden Jambu Zoo; Arun Gupta, Wildlife Warden Headquarter; Parveen Kumar Dubey Assistant Engineer Wildlife and other staff of the Wildlife Protection Department, Forest Protection Force personnel, locals and visitors.
JKAP 7th Battalion celebrated 75th Independence Day at Battalion Headquarters, APC, Channi Himmat Jammu. The Flag was hoisted by Suneel Raj, Commandant JKAP 7th Battalion. The best deserving officers and officials were rewarded suitably and certificates were awarded to them during the event.
Independence Day 2021 was celebrated in Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal. Celebration was started with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dinesh Shrama, Sr. Superintendent. A colorful cultural programme was presented by the jail inmates.
Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak hoisted the National Flag at the Horticulture Complex Talab Tillo to mark the celebration of 75th Independence Day in the presence of Joint Director Horticulture, C. L. Sharma, Dy Director (central), Dy. Director (Planning) and other officers and officials of the department.
To celebrate 75th Independence Day, an impressive programme was organized at Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu. Director AYUSH J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh, in presence of Assistant Director Dr. Rakesh Kumar Raina, Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Officer (AYUSH) and staff of Directorate AYUSH and Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, hoisted National Flag in the premises of the Hospital. The programme culminated with the vote of thanks presented by Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Dogra.
The Department of Agriculture Jammu celebrated the 75th Independence Day at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo. The programme was organized jointly by Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Employees Association, (Gazette/Non-Gazetted) Jammu. Director K. K. Sharma hoisted the National Flag. A large number of officers and employees of the Agriculture Department participated in the function. The Director agriculture also facilitated the officers and officials for their exemplary work. Joint Director (Marketing), A.S. Reen, Joint Director (Extension), Rajan Sharma, Joint Director (Farms), Rajinder Sharma, Joint Director (Apiculture & Mushroom), Iqbal Singh, CAO Jammu, Arvind Baru CAO Kathua, Vijay Upadhaya, President JKAEA, Uttam Sharma were also present.
The glorious moment of 75th Independence Day was celebrated in FPF Gama Unit J-11 Reasi with ecstasy and enthusiasm. The function started with unfurling of Tricolour by Anwar Aftab Shah, Dy Director FPF Reasi. The Assistant Directors Sudesh Kumar, Suresh Chand, Sham Kumar and other field personnel/ staff members of FPF J-11 Reasi also attended the function. Sudesh Kumar Assistant Director, Vijay Singh; Dy Inspector, Kartar Chand; Dy Inspector, Ilam Din; Dy Inspector, Mohd Ashraf FPF Guard and Ashok Kumar FPF Guard of the unit were awarded the Appreciation Certificate in view of their meritorious, dedicated & outstanding services.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated in the premises of Sheep Husbandry Complex Jammu, wherein the National Flag was hoisted by the Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Krishan Lal followed by recitation of Indian National Anthem.
To commemorate the monumental occasion of 75th anniversary of India’s Independence under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board hoisted the Tricolour with traditional fervour and patriotism at Katra, the base town for pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
The main function at Katra was held at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, where CEO, SMVDSB took salute at march-past by the contingents drawn from J&K Police, CRPF, NCC Boys and Girls, Scouts and Guides at the Sports Complex, besides the students of various educational institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Kumar applauded the achievement of Rakesh Kumar, Archer of Shrine Board Sports Complex, Katra who have qualified for Tokyo Paralympics Games 2021 and brought laurels to the Country.
He recalled and appreciated selfless services in general rendered in the COVID-19 by Doctors, Paramedical Staff, Sanitation Workers, Police and Paramilitary Personnel and in particular for regulation of yatra.
The students of various educational institutions presented a colourful cultural programme. Besides, a special tribute was also paid by one Vaishali Rajput to Lt. Padma Sachdev, a legendary figure and a doyen of Dogri literature.
Ramesh Kumar gave away prizes and appreciation to the COVID Warriors, Social Workers and Students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural programme.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, Ramesh Kumar, CEO, SMVDSB, also hoisted the tricolour at the Central Office of the Shrine Board at Katra. The national flag was hoisted by Naresh Kumar, SDM at Bhawan in the presence of CRPF, Police and Shrine Board officers and staff.
NHPC Regional Office, Jammu celebrated 75th Independence Day. In the office premises, Rajan Kumar, NHPC Region Head, Jammu unfurled the National Flag and sung the National anthem along with people. Rajan inaugurated Van Mahotsav 2021 by planting saplings in the office premises. The event was also attended by Ramesh Kumar, GM(C), Gurudutt, GM(F) and other senior officers and employees, Security personnel and supporting staff of NHPC.
75th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at KP Sabha Ambphalla, Jammu. On this occasion the National Flag was hoisted by the President K. K. Khosa along with the Executive Committee Members namely, S.L Bagati, G.J Kampasi, Ashok Khar, Subash Dhar, Asha Kitchloo, Jatinder Parimoo, Prof. R.K Ganjoo, Virender Raina, Rajinder K. Tiku, Deepak Dhar, V. K. Bakshi, B.L Rawal, Anil Wakhloo and T.K Bhan (Non-Executive Member).
Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI), Jammu celebrated the 75th Independence Day. An impressive programme was organized at the Chamber House which commenced with the hoisting of National Flag by Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu in presence of other office bearers and senior members of the CCI. The whole environs were filled patriotic fervour with more than 400 CCI Jammu members joining the occasion dedicated to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation and its people as a result of which the people of the World’s largest Democracy are enjoying full freedom and self esteem having earned honour and dignity at the global level.
Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust celebrated the 75th Independence Day at the Trust’s Central Office at Shalamar Road.
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Ajay Gandotra, President of the Trust in presence of the Secretary of the Trust Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma and the employees of the Central Office of the Trust. This was followed by saluting of the National Flag and singing of National Anthem.
The Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) also celebrated 75th Independence Day with usual gaiety and solemnity. The Flag hoisting ceremony took place at the lawns of the Day Care Centre for Elders at Exhibition Ground. The senior most member, P.P Sharma, former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Dr. Ashok Bhan former DGP jointly unfurled the National Flag. A large number of former members of the Central Govt services were present including J.K Vaid, General Secretary & B.K Raina Vice President of the Association, Madan Lal former ADGP, Prem Gupta & Nisar Ahmad former IGPs, Dr. Sudarshan Kumar former DG, DRDO, S.D Swatantra former PCCF, V.K Sambyal, former Director Radio Kashmir Jammu, V.K Ghai & J.L Sharma, former DIGs and K.B Jandial.
On the occasion, the impressive progress achieved in almost sectors in India was appreciated and hoped that the nation would be able to meet all challenges. The association also decided to take social work to help the needy.
The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated in the premises of the Employees Provident Fund Organization, Regional Office, Jammu. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Regional PF Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin, followed by National Anthem. EPFO officials K. Ramesh (RC-ll), Pramod Singh (E.O.), Mukesh Kumar, (SSSA), Sanjeev Kumar (SSSA), Mini S. (DPA), Ashwini (JKPF), Kanchan (DEO), Shubam, Keshav and other were given rewards for their exceptional services. Regional Commissioner-1 particularly mentioned about the exceptional work done by Sanjeev Kumar who on the eve of Independence Day settled highest number of claims (255 claims) on 14th August reaching Office early in the morning and worked till 6 PM.
75th Independence Day of India, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Parade, Jammu hoisted the National Flag in the premises of Sabha in presence of all the members of the Dogra Brahman Sabha. The flag was hoisted by Ved Parkash Sharma, President of the Sabha. The National Anthem was rendered by the members. Those who spokes on the occasion were Verinder Mohan Magotra, Satya Nand Sharma, Nand Chand Sharma, M.L Sharma, P.C. Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated the 75rd Independence day at Civil Airport Jammu. S.K Garg, Airport Director Jammu hoisted the National Flag. Staff of AAI, CISF and various airlines participated in the celebrations.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence day today, Lieutenant Governor Ladakh RK Mathur presided over the celebrations at the Leh polo grounds situated below the tri-color adorned Leh Palace. Post hoisting the National Flag and inspection of the contingents, LG Mathur in his address, appreciated the performance of the health department in the continued fight against COVID and stated that becoming the first state in the country to have achieved 100 per cent coverage of the first dose, maintaining -3.2 per cent in wastage and conducting more than 4.6 lack tests is a reflection of the departments honesty, transparency, hard work and efficiency. On the occasion the Administration also launched an Immunity Boosting Drive for the 18 years and below population.
Highlighting the challenge imposed by the pandemic on school education, LG Mathur informed that online education has become the need of the hour and therefore the administration is striving to improve tele-connectivity across Ladakh. The function was attended by CEC, LAHDC Leh Tashi Gyalson, Member Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Advisor Umang Narula, Principal Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Sahu, ADGP Satish Khandare, Divisional Commissioner Saugat Biswas, Chief Conservator of Forest PP Singh, Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan, Admin. Leaders and activists of Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir, including MPs and former Legislators, celebrated 75th Independence Day by hoisting National Flag amidst Nationalist sloganeering and distribution of sweets with enthusiasm during the celebration functions, organized across the J&K. Yudhvir Sethi hoisted “Tiranga” at City Chowk, Baria Mohalla Shalamar, Paharia Mohalla, JP Chowk, Peer KhoAkhara, Bus Stand, Raj tilak Road, Kali Janni, Pacca Danga, Circular Road, Purani Mandi, Gummat Bazar, Vivekananad Chowk, Ward 11 etc. Pawan Khajuria hoisted “Tiranga” at Saila Talaa Matador Stand, BJP Office Udhampur etc. Priya Sethi hoisted “Tiranga” at Upper & Lower Purani Mandi, DPS, PAcca Danga etc.
On the occasion of 75th Independence Day Celebrations, Major General Neeraj Gosain, General Officer Commanding ‘Tiger Division’ extended warm wishes and greetings to all ranks of the formation and their families. On this auspicious occasion floral wreath at ‘Balidan Stambh’ was laid by awardees of 1971 war and Veer Nari in presence of commander Shivalik Brigade. Two minutes silence was observed in reverence of all those valiant soldiers who sacrificed their life for the freedom of this Nation. The event also included cultural programme by NCC cadets followed by a Band Concert. The event was attended by nominated Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks with social distancing norms in view of COVID-19.
Inner Wheel Club Jammu New Gen celebrated Independence Day by hoisting the Tricolour. Members of the club and the locals of Gandhi Nagar Area joined the President of the Club, Anita Goel in the flag hoisting ceremony. Later, the club members celebrated Independence Day with the slum children of Channi area. The children who previously attended the workshop on eco bricks showcased their products. After this, some stationery were distributed among the slum children.
Th Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha hoisted the National Flag at Dogra Hall, the office of DSS, on the occasion of the 75th Independence. He urged upon the Lieutenant Governor to review the pace of work of conservation of the magnificent Mubarak Mandi Complex and to consider directing the concerned at the earliest to drop the incompatible move to convert part of it into a heritage hotel.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad celebrated 75th Independence Day with great joy and enthusiasm and hoisted National Flag at 3400 plus villages of Jammu and Kashmir. There are many colorful programmes was also done at many places of Jammu Kashmir with great enthusiasm and joy. ABVP karyakartas unfurled National Flag in 50 villages of Rajouri, 205 villages of Sunderbani, 200 villages of Kathua, 150 villages of Samba, 530 villages, 75 wards, 10 Bastis of Jammu district, 310 villages of Udhampur, 200 villages of Reasi, 116 villages of Ramban, 200 villages of Doda, 150 villages of Kishtwar, and above 1000 villages of Kashmir and 10 villages of Ladakh .
All units and establishments of CRPF based in Jammu region celebrated75th Independence Day (AzadiKaAmrutMahotsav) with full vigour and enthusiasm. National Flag was unfurled at all the locations. On the occasion, a programme was organized at Group Centre CRPF Campus Jammu. Chief Guest P.S. Ranpise, IGP, Jammu Sector hoisted the National Flag at the Quarter Guard in presence of senior officers, subordinate officers and Jawans of CRPF Campus Jammu. In addition to the above programs, the flag was hoisted by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Group Center, CRPF Jammu as the Chief Guest at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Jammu. During this program, Dr. Manju Nathan, (Deputy Commissioner) Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dr. Madan Mohan Jha, Director, Central Sanskrit Vishwa Vidyalaya Kotbhalwal, Jammu and Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Banatalab Jammu, Suraj Prasad and Prem Chandra Gupta, Commandant, Group Center, CRPF Jammu and teachers and students of the school were also present.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha organized an impressive function to celebrate 75th Independence Day at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road Jammu. Romesh Chander Gupta President of the Sabha along with top brass of the organisation, unfurled the National Flag. A patriotic poem was read by C.P Gupta. Yash Paul Gupta the Chief Patron of the Sabha also spoke on the occasion and recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighter. The Office Bearers who were present on the occasion included Shiv Partap Gupta, Om Parkash Mahajan (Kaku Shah), Om Parkash Gupta (Ex Gen Secy.) Harinder Gupta, Surinder Gupta, Rajesh Choudhary, C.P Gupta, Vijay Gupta, Dr. Mohan Lal Gupta, Subash Gupta , Satish Mahajan, Yash Pal Gupta, Surinder Gupta, Balbir Gupta Kulbhushan Gupta, Romesh Chander Gupta (Bartan Wale ), Dinesh Gupta (Corporator), Vimal Gupta and Mukesh Mahajan. POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System -II celebrated 75th Independence Day with patriotism and enthusiasm. Flag hoisting ceremony and various programmes were organized at all the establishments across the Region. At the Regional Headquarters, Grid Bhawan, Jammu, the Chief Guest Tarun Bajaj, Chief General Manager (Project), NRTS -II, unfurled the National Flag in presence of Senior officials, employees and their families members. He urged the employees to continue to serve the organization with dedication and sincerity for the overall development of our nation. The reports of celebrating the Independence Day at all site offices in the Region comprising Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, UT of J&K, Ladakh & Chandigarh are being received.
Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana has highlighted the need for further strengthening amity and harmony between various segments of society, saying secular ethos and democratic foundations are essence of the idea of Jammu and Kashmir and idea of India. “This idea has to be preserved, which will not only be a befitting tribute to the great heroes of India’s freedom movement but also a rich legacy to be bequeathed to future generations of our great nation”, Rana said while unfurling Tricolour on Independence Day at Sher-i-Kashmir Bhavan, and reiterated the pledge to strive for cementing bonds of brotherhood and restoration of lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Surjeet Singh Salathia, Rattan Lal Gupta, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Babu Rampal, Jugal Mahajan, Brij Mohan Sharma besides other party leaders.
Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and State Secretary BJP J&K, Ch. Vikram Randhawa unfurled the National Flag at various places in Gandhi Nagar assembly segment on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. While addressing the locals at these places Randhawa urged upon the people to inculcate the sense of patriotism among the young buds which is rapidly vanishing as they are the future of the nation. The places where Randhawa unfurled National Flag include Baichara Chowk Bathindi, Narwal, Rajeev Nagar, Gorkha Nagar, Channi Himmat, Trikuta Nagar, Kunjwani, Langar, Dhamesh Nagar, Jeevan Nagar, Raipur Satwari, Shumali Mohalla, Belicharna, Makka Masjid and Chowk Bathindi.
Rajesh Choudhary along with President Arun Kumar Chibber, Secretary Dr R.C Gupta and Organizing Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta (Master Ji) of Morning Walker Association Rehari Colony celebrtaed Independence Day and hoisted National Flag in the Master Devi Chand Park, Rehari Colony, here. On this occasion the members of the Association above age of 75 years are garlanded and welcome by the association. The members who were welcomed include Jugmohan Gupta, Subash Gupta (Insurance), Er Subash Gupta, Er K.D Singh and Prop. Virinder Gupta. A large number of people gathered there to celebrate the Independent Day. Parsad distributed among the people.
