Govt felicitates Saqlain on I-Day

JAMMU: Saqlain Tariq, an international volleyball player, son of soil, who is in camp of Senior Indian Volleyball Men team presently at Bubeneshwar, has been honored for his meritorious services in the field of sport by JKUT on Independence Day function by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Governor at MA Stadium Jammu.
V.K Magotra General Secretary, Volleyball Association of J&K received the award on behalf of Saqlain Tariq, which was proud moments for all office bearers of VAJK.
Receiving award, Magotra described it historical achievements and all-round growth of sports in 75th years of India’s Independence.
The Volleyball Association of J&K has been always in forefront for promotion and grooming of players all across JKUT, he said adding that Saqlain has already represented India in Sri Lanka, Myanmar and BRICS games in Volleyball and brought laurels for all of us including his family members, father Mohd Tariq, his mentor. The Gen Secretary also disclosed that keeping in view the latest trends in sports in recently concluded Olympic games with spectacular performances of Indian players, we are confident our Indian contingent of men volleyball team including Saqlain would perform well in 21st Asian Senior Men Volleyball Championship scheduled to be held at Tokyo, Japan from September 8 to 20, 2021.
The office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K including Sidharth Daluja President, Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer, R.C Sharma Treasurer and others congratulated Saqlain for this prestigious honour, which would definitely inspire younger generation towards volleyball.
