Hold detailed probe into land grabbing at Sunjwan-Chowadhi: BJP leader urges LG

JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Gandhi Nagar Mandal, Farman Ali has demanded a high-level probe to investigate matter of land grabbing by some influential people in Sunjwan-Chowadhi area of Tehsil Bahu, District Jammu, with active involvement of corrupt revenue officials.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club Jammu, Ali, who had contested Panchyat elections, said that with involvement of revenue officials, some influential property dealers have illegally encroached State/ Forest/ razing land and even not spared lands of temples and other shrines, particularly in Sunjwan-Chowadhi area.
Supporting Sagotra Saryara community, who is fighting over encroachment of their Kul Devi Bua Dati temple at Chowadhi, Farman alleged that some revenue officials are main culprits behind revenue frauds. The matter needs to be investigated how some revenue officials managed posting in Jammu and that too in Tehsil Bahu, he asked.
He further said that people have a lot of hopes in Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration and as such, an enquiry should be conducted to check revenue records of entire land in Sunjwan-Chowadhi area, where Gair Mumkin Khads, Shamlat, State / Forest/ grazing land and even land of temples and shrines have been encroached and sold by land grabbers.
