JAMMU: Agitated over non-availability of power supply, few days back the residents of Chatha Farm, Bhour Camp, Chatha Pind, Chatha Mill and adjoining areas staged protest in Karna Bagh area against the Power Development Department (PDD).
Speaking on the situation, Sushil Sudan (President Social Welfare Association) said that people have been facing shortage of power supply and unscheduled power cuts.
He said that earlier too people had to come on roads and they protested against the administration and then, they were assured by the Chief Engineer and XEN that the PDD would resolve the concern of the people by shifting the load from Power Grid Station Chatha to power Grid Station Hakkal Because the Hakkal station is under loaded but even as over many days have passed, he said, the administration has not done anything. In a press conference held today, Sushil Sudan and the other members of the association warned that if their demands would not fulfilled within 5 days, they would again block the Karan Bagh Chowk, Jammu-RS Pura Road on August 26, 2021 for which the govt. & the PDD will be responsible.
Other present in the press conference were Amrit Bali, Parfulat Singh, Gurmeet Kour, Pawan Kumar Bhagat, Shashi Kant Khajuria, Gurdeep Singh, Baldev Singh, Mohinder Lal Choudhary and Jagdesh Raj Bhagat.
