POONCH: Organised by Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club, Poonch Open Volleyball Tournament got underway at Salwa in Tehsil Mendhar, here on Friday.
The event is being held in collaboration with Night Volleyball Club Salwa under the banner of Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK). In total, 11 teams are taking part in this event across the district.
The DDC Vice Chairman, Ashfaq Choudhary was the Chief Guest, who interacted with the teams. While speaking to the gathering, the Chief Guest was all praise for the organisers, especially Chairman of Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh Club, Mohd Tariq for his tireless efforts to promote the game of volleyball and thus engaging the youth towards a healthy life style.
Among others present were Showket Hussain (Sarpanch), Aftab Ahmed (Sarpanch), Imtaiz Hashmi (Principal) and Mohd Shabir.
The Results: Star Club bt Naar Club 25-20, 25-18; Rising Star Bhatidar bt Friends Club 25-21, 26-24; All Friends Club bt Narma Club 26-24, 25-21; Mendhar Club bt Zam Zam Club 25-18, 21-25, 15-11.
