JAMMU/ NEW Delhi: Delhi’s Sameer Chaudhary will lead the Indian team in the FIVB Volleyball Boys Under-19 World Championship which will be held in Tehran from August 24 to September 2, 2021.
Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Member of Parliament and the President, Volleyball Federation of India announced the Indian Boy’s Volleyball team on Sunday. The team left to participate in the championship today.
The Team
Sandeep (Rajasthan), Sameer Chaudhary (Captain, Delhi), Aman Kumar (Haryana), Harshit Giri (Chandigarh), Ajay Kumar (Haryana), Tanish Choudhary (Delhi), Joshnoor Dhindsa (Punjan), Jibin Job (Kerala), Dushyant Singh (Rajasthan), Srinath Selvakumar (Tamil Nadu), Dibyam Shahi (Uttar Pradesh) and Chikkanna Venu (Libero, Tamil Nadu).

Officials: Pritam Singh Chauhan (Head Coach), Praveen Kumar Sharma and Bijoy Babu (Assistant Coaches), Dr Gaganendu Dash (Manager) and Digvijay Singh Rathore (physiotherapist). India has been placed in Group ‘A’ along with Iran, Nigeria, Poland and Guatemala.
Earlier, the Selection Trials for the Indian Under-19 Boys Volleyball Team were held on July 22 – 23, 2021 at KIIT University. A total of 350 players participated in the selection trials which was successfully conducted at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, KIIT University, out of which 21 players were selected for the National Coaching Camp, which held at KIIT University from July 24 to August 21, 2021.
Zonal Executive Vice President Asian Volleyball Confederation and former Secretary General VFI, Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, Chairman VFI S. Vasudevan, President VFI, Dr Achyuta Samanta, Secretary General VFI Anil Choudhary, Associate Secretary VFI Kuldeep Magotra and Associate Joint Secretary VFI, Sidharth Daluja wished the India volleyball team the best of luck for winning the World Championship.
Patron-in-Chief, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja; President, Sidharth Daluja; Chief Executive Officer, Kuldeep Magotra; General Secretary, V.K Magotra; Treasurer, R.C Sharma; Executive Vice President, H.S Gill and other office bearers also extended their good wishes to the Indian squad for performing well and clinching the trophy for the country.
