Proceedings in the Maharashtra assembly have begun. The Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government is scheduled to face a floor test today after Sunday’s big win where BJP’s Rahul Narvekar was elected as the Speaker. On Sunday, Shinde and his faction held a meeting with deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, BJP MLAs, and party leaders to chalk out strategy for the floor test. Fadnavis claimed that the government will prove majority with 166 votes. Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray termed the floor test a ‘morality test’ for MLAs.
