POONCH: District Administration Poonch under the headship of District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet, organised a Block Diwas programme at Panchayat Khanetar and listened to public issues.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar; DDC Member, Abdul Gani; ACD, Rajesh Lakhan; Chief Agricultural Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Executive Engineers, BDC members, Panch, Sarpanch and all concerned officers were present.
The programme witnessed immense response from the public from all walks of life.
The people in large numbers of Panchayat Khanetar and adjoining areas were present.
During the programme, PRI members and locals raised various development related issues including Completion of 12 km road from Tanda to Chroon, 8 km road from Tanda to Duprian, Dalera Mera road, high school to Kalaban road, Tanda to Kalali road, construction of Duprian health centre building, completion of Sukha Chowa to Safeda water lift scheme and Kalsan lift scheme, electric poll for Jabaria Mohalla, repair of canal irrigation from Dlara to Kanuyian, completion of Panchayat Ghar Dalera, completion of JJM water supply scheme in Mohalla Bakarwalan Makhyala, retrieval of encroached school land and construction of mini stadium, PHC for Khanater Panchayat, Jhulla bridge for Bela Basti and several other issues.
Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner warned all the user agencies and executing agencies to complete the works in time. He directed the officers to work in coordination so that equitable development is ensured
The Deputy Commissioner said that the main aim of conducting such programmes is to improve service delivery and grievances redress mechanism.
He also appealed to people and PRIs to cooperate with the administration to achieve the new heights in terms of development in the district.
The concerned officers also addressed the public and assured early redress of issues.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vinod Kumar advised the locals to keep their children away from drugs, always use a helmet for safety and seek verification from the police station before keeping a tenant.
