GDC Nowshera launches plantation, cleanliness drive

Nowshera: NSS unit Of Govt. Degree College Nowshera organised a plantation, cleanliness and drug de-addiction drive at the adopted village Hanjana Thakra village of Nowshera block under the convenorship of programme officer Prof. Inam Ul Haq and the guidance of Principal Dr. Surinder Kumar. They were split into two teams, one for plantation and the others went for house to house for drug de-addiction drive. The participants were highly enthusiastic to make it a big success. In this initiative Panchyat Ghar was adopted by NSS for plantation. The volunteers cleaned the bushes and planted saplings, and watered the plants. Plants were also distributed among villagers. Whereas the other team spent quality time with the villagers and aware them on drug and substance abuse.
Meanwhile, NSS unit was also accompanied by local Panch Dolly Devi (Ward No.2) and Ritu Bala (Ward No.5)
While speaking on the occasion Principal of the college advised the volunteers to form a living contact with the community and should done “something positive so that the life of the villagers might be raised to a higher material and moral level”. Moreover principal also advised students to disseminate information among villagers regarding various Govt. welfare schemes.
