AWANTIPORA: Police on Saturday solved a theft case by arresting 5 accused involved in crime and recovered stolen property.
As per details, on August 24, 2021, Police Station Khrew received a complaint from one Arshid Ahmad Mir, resident of Khrew stating therein that during intervening night of August 23-24, his truck (JK13-3822) loaded with 180 bags of cement was stolen, which was parked near Playground Khrew. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 61/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation was set into motion.
During investigation, after strenuous efforts the stolen truck was recovered from Wuyan area without cement bags. Taking assistance of modern techniques, the investigating team learnt about involvement of five suspects persons identified as Danish Shafi resident of New Colony Khrew, Zaffer Ahmad Bhat, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat, Sikandar Ali Bhat and Waseem Ishtiyaq Ganai residents of Wuyan. Accordingly, all accused were arrested and shifted to police station where they remained in custody. Moreover, on their disclosure another Truck bearing registration number JK02U-3327 loaded with stolen cement bags was also recovered and seized. Further investigation into the matter is under progress.
