JAMMU: Senior Congress leader and President District Congress Committee (DCC) Rural, Hari Singh Chib on Saturday came down heavily upon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while lambasting it for ‘selling national assets’ under its recently announced National Monetization Pipeline (NMP).
In a statement issued to media here today, the senior Congress leader questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party that how come the BJP which is not the owner of the national assets has decided to sell the very national heritage. He asserted that national assets of the nation belong to its people who are the real owners and it is they alone who can take decisions regarding the same.
Chib called upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to come out openly to protest against the BJP’s highly irresponsible decision of selling the country’s assets. He said that this decision is a great shame for the Saffron Party which claims to be the only dedicated and devoted nationalist party.
He asserted that Congress Party will leave no stone unturned in compelling the Bharatiya Janata Party led Central Govt to roll back this highly atrocious anti-national decision. Meanwhile, the President DCC Jammu Rural along with Engineers of UEED earlier on Saturday took stock of the issues and problems being faced by the people on account of civic amenities by physically visiting some areas including Ramzanpura in Janipur, Basant Nagar and Mohalla Gujjar Paloura of Raipur Domana Assembly segment. The people apprised the senior Congress leader about the pitiable condition of lanes and drains in the area that has led to multiple sanitation problems.
Chib listened patiently to the grievances of the people and on the spot directed the UEED officials to immediately resolve the problems related to drainage in these areas at the earliest. Besides, he also directed them to initiate construction of new drains in various lanes and by-lanes of the aforesaid localities.
Among those present along with the senior Congress leader included Som Nath Sharma, Dr Chander Mohan, Choudhary Nazir Ahmad, Shahbaj Ahmad, Maulana Tabraiz, Ch Masood Raza, Gulrez Khan, Mohammad Babar, Mohd Hafeez, Aftab Ahmad, Irfan Choudhary, Mohd Saqid, Tarsem Singh and Shyam Singh.
