JAMMU: A General Body meeting of election field staff working in the office of DEOs, EROs, DyCEO and AEROs of Jammu/Kashmir Division was held on Saturday at Jammu and Srinagar to elect the office bearers of the J&K Field Employees Association of Election Department.
The General Body unanimously elected the office bearers of the association for a period of 3 years.
The office bearers include Rattan Chand Thakur, Election Officer Jammu (President); Showket Ahmed Dar, E.A, Sr. Scale Baramulla (Vice President); Koser Naz, ENT, JMC (General Secretary); Parvaiz Ahmed, EA, Sr. Scale Srinagar (Secretary); Javaid Ahmad Ganaie, EA, Badgam (Organizing Secretary); Peer Darakhshan, EA, Srinagar (Publicity Secretary); Mudasir Slam, EA, Jr. Scale (Treasurer Kashmir Province); and Niku Ram, ENT Jammu (Treasurer Jammu Province).
The general body also decided to take up issues before authorities for their reddressal. The issues include removal of pay anomalies of election field staff at par with Revenue Counterparts, creation of posts of Tehsildar Election at District Level as existing in the neighbour States of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal, post of Assistant Chief Electoral Officer from department field staff, elevation of posts of Election Officers as Tehsildar Election, promotion of Election Assistants Jr. scale as Election Assistants Sr. scale, promotion of qualified Class IV of field staff as Election Assistant Jr. Scale, regular conduct of DPC i.e twice in a year, filling up of more than 60% vacancies of election Field Staff and posts created with the State Election Commission may be filled up by giving promotion from Election Departments and release of one month salary for conduct of DDC Election 2020.
