The Election Commission on Thursday announced that the Gujarat assembly elections will be held in two phases – December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will be done on December 8, along with Himachal Pradesh results. The EC has convened a press conference to announce the schedule. There are a total of 182 assembly seats in Gujarat and 92 is needed for a simple majority.
