Beijing, Shanghai, Urumqi, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Wuhan and at least a dozen other cities across China saw hundreds of people taking to the streets to protest against President Xi Jinping’s harsh zero-Covid policy that has allowed authorities to place millions of citizens under prolonged lockdowns even if just a handful of cases are reported.
