Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, 58, will be the 15th chief minister of Himachal Pradesh after the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) chose him as its leader Saturday evening, ending nearly two days of high drama and a tug-of-war in the hill state that gave the mandate to Congress in the just-concluded elections. Mukesh Agnihotri, 60, will be deputy CM. Sukhu is a four-time MLA for Naudaun in Hamirpur district. Agnihotri was elected from Haorli in Una district for the fifth time and has been a minister in the past. The cabinet will be expanded later. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have reached the Shimla to attend the event. Stay with TOI for all the latest updates.
