Arrest causes incalculable harm to self-esteem of a person: HC on Kochhars

The High Court in India ruled that the arrests of Chanda Kochhar and Deepak Kochhar were not justified, and that they should be released on bail. The Kochhar’s lawyer argued that the arrests were not justified because the Kochhar’s did not confess to any crimes, and that the arrests were made without proper justification. The High Court also pointed out that the Kochhar’s had been reporting to the CBI for years, and that no summons had been issued to them. The Kochhar’s were freed on bail pending the hearing of their petitions.
