Accounts Asstt lands in ACB net, caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 18,000

JAMMU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed an Accounts Assistant working in Children’s Hospital, Bemina Srinagar red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 18,000. As per an official spokesperson, the sleuths of ACB received a complaint from Class-IV/MTS employees of Children’s Hospital Bemina Srinagar through their representative, stating therein that a fellow employee working as Accounts Assistant at said hospital is demanding a bribe at the rate of Rs 3000 per employee for releasing 2 1/2 days allowance along with salary in their favour. The complainants were, however, not willing to pay bribe and approached ACB Srinagar for taking legal action against accused public servant. “On receipt of complaint, FIR 01/2023 under section 7 of PC Act 1988 was registered and investigation started. A trap team, constituted by the bureau, laid a successful trap and caught accused public servant red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 18,000 from complainants. The money was recovered from accused on the spot from accused, later identified as Nisar Ahmad Rather, son of Ab Ahad Rather, resident of Nowshera,” the official said, adding that further investigation is going on.
