Residents of Ward-3, Parnala agitate against shortage of drinking water

Billawar: The residents of Parnala falling in Ward-3, Billawar have staged an agitation against acute shortage of drinking water in their locality. Demonstrating against the PHE authorities for erratic water supply, people alleged that they are facing a lot of hardships due to lack of drinking water supply for the past some time. They told that despite repeated requests to authorities for looking into the issue of regular drinking water supply, nothing has been done in this regard. People maintained that a large number of connections have been given from the available minimal source of pipe and there is immediate need to enhance the diameter of main supply pipe to augment the capacity. People warned PHE authorities to attend to this important issue on priority and ensure regular supply of water, failing which they will step up their struggle to awake the authorities for their genuine cause. They further requested the senior officers like ADC, Billawar and Executive Engineer, PHE to take note of their genuine problem and address it on priority.
