Jammu: Commerce Department of Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on Thursday organised a national webinar on ‘Financial Education’.
Prof. Mamta Gupta, HOD Commerce, welcomed the resource person Raghunandan Pattanaik, a National Trainer BFSI, certified Trainer Belt USA.
Principal of the College, Dr. Sangeeta Nagari, who presided over the webinar, said, “Financial education is the basic life skill that has a direct impact on personal well being. It helps in understanding financial concepts better and enables to manage finances efficiently. Acquiring these skills would require one to understand the basic financial concepts like time value of money, compound interest, annualized return and opportunity cost.”
In his lecture, Raghunandan Pattanaik explained in detail about Role of Securities exchange and Board of India for Indian Securities Market, where to invest and where not to invest and how to make our own financial plan, Income Tax planning to save tax under Sec 80 (C) and get better returns.
He emphasized 3 Guru Mantras for managing money like,- risk preservation, wealth preservation and wealth creation. He focused on how better money management leads to financial prosperity and peace of mind.
He concluded by saying “Don’t save what is left after spending but spend what is left after saving.”
