Two LeT Terrorists Killed In An Encounter In J&K’s Baramulla: Police

SRINAGAR, May 4: Security forces shot dead two newly recruited terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba in a gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday morning, police said.
This was the second gunfight in Kashmir in less than 24 hours.
The fresh gunfight broke out at Wanigam Kreeri area Baramulla during a cordon and a search operation which was launched following an input about militant presence.
“ As the forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire triggering a gunfight. In the operation two terrorists were killed,” a security official said.
Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar identified the slain as Shakir Majid Najar and Hanan Ahmad Seh from Shopian district who were associated with LeT.
“Both joined terrorism in the month of March 2023,” he said
Police said incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including an AK 47 rifle and a pistol were recovered.
