Sikh organisations demand immediate elections of DGPC

JAMMU: Sikh Organizations demanded immediate elections of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees of J&K UT to be conducted by the administration. In the press conference, Sikh leaders said as the administration work in the DGPC Jammu is not properly conducted by the present committee there is no full house meeting for the last one year.
All the leaders appealed to the administration to get the elections conducted as the things are coming back to the normal and they even requested to keep more voting point at each polling booth so that SOPs can be followed during the pandemic situation. The leaders also appealed to the District administration of Jammu for the audit of the accounts of DGPC Jammu which is not done for the last 10 years and its mandatory to be done every year according to the Gurdwara Act.
The leaders also appealed to Sikh Sangat and youth particularly to come forward in the election process for the betterment of the community.
