Presentation Convent organizes Inter-School Folk Dance Competition

JAMMU, May 19: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School Gandhi Nagar organized Umang – Nritya Ek Kala, Inter School Folk Dance Competition in the School auditorium, here today.
The mega event was presided over by Col. Hirde Preet Singh, a distinguished and serving Army officer who has received numerous awards and accolades and represented India at various international forums. The programme was witnessed by various distinguished members of the School management, Sr. Amelina Rodrigues, Principal of the School, Sr. Marie Therese, member of managing body and Sr. Lovely Thomas, Administrator of the School.
The performances were judged by a team of adjudicators, comprising Revika Arora (Sr Assistant Professor in Chemistry at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu), Rushita Jain (Company secretary) and Chitvan Wazir (Founder and Managing Director of international clothing brand, Wazir C).
Various schools from across the city participated in the event with alacrity and exhilaration and presented a wide variety of folk dances like Gondhal, Sammi, Kolli, Bhangra and many more. The participants, dressed in colourful costumes set the stage on fire with their alluring and high spirited performances.
The dancers captivated everyone’s attention by their rhythmic dancing skills and synchronized movements.
Presentation Convent Sr. Sec. School, claimed the first position, the second position was clinched by Jammu Sanskriti School and the third position was bagged by Stephens International School.
The Rolling Trophy was claimed by Presentation Convent Sr. Sec. School, while certificates of participation were given to all the participants of the programme.
The Chief Guest of the event presented trophies and certificates to the winners of the competition. Subash was media coordinator for the event.
