JAMMU, May 19: Police today arrested two drug peddlers from different locations of Jammu City and recovered 1.20 kilograms of ganja and 7 grams of heroin from their possession.
“A team of Police Post Gujjar Nagar while on patrolling duty at Jogi Gate rounded up one suspected person namely Ajay Sahu son of Bittu Sahu, resident of Odhisha and during search, recovered 1.20 kg of ganja from his possession,” a Police spokesman said, adding, a case under FIR Number 29/2023 U/S 8/21/ NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Peermitha and the accused arrested.
He said in a similar way, a team of Police Station City while on naka duty at Ranbireshwer Temple Chowk rounded up a suspected person on a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BL-5428 and during search, recovered 7 grams of heroin from his possession.
“In this regard, a case FIR number 25/2023 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS City and the accused identified as Venay Hans son of Tarseem Hans, resident of House Number 362 (Ward Number 8, Dogra Hall, Jammu) arrested,” the spokesman said, adding, further investigation of the cases was going on.
