Critical care specialist Dr A S Anoop Kumar, who was the first to notice strange symptoms in one of the patients admitted to a private hospital in 2018 that led to the identification of the first outbreak of Nipah in Kerala, was instrumental in identifying the latest outbreak of Nipah in state.
