Lawyer sends ‘unprepared’ junior to hearing, fined Rs 2,000

The Chief Justice of India-led bench has decided to impose a cost of Rs 2,000 on an advocate for seeking adjournment of a hearing at the last minute through an unprepared junior advocate. The junior advocate appeared without the case file and could not answer any queries about the case. The Chief Justice expressed disapproval and asked the advocate on record to appear in the case as soon as possible. The advocate on record was also asked to deposit a cost of Rs 2,000 for wasting judicial time.
