Police in Varanasi have arrested five members of a gang involved in supplying minor girls to IVF centres. The gang would convince financially vulnerable girls to donate their eggs, and then create fake identification documents to make them appear eligible for donation. The arrested individuals were found to be part of an organised gang that targeted girls from financially weak backgrounds. The investigation also revealed that the gang had connections with middlemen from IVF centres.
