The budget introduced by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman sent out a strong message about the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It did not include any tax sweeteners or populist announcements and focused on showcasing the government’s achievements, such as har ghar jal, electricity-for-all, and cooking gas-for-all schemes. It also highlighted the importance of social justice and fiscal discipline.
