Local leaders of both BJP and Sena held senior leaders of the two parties responsible for Friday night’s incident, saying they had not taken the matter seriously enough and failed to settle the dispute. Sources said BJP’s Kalyan district president Nana Suryavanshi had once demanded intervention of CM Eknath Shinde and Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis to stop the fight.
