PM Modi started many welfare measures for transporters and drivers: Former Mayor

JAMMU: Elections of Railway Station Taxi Operators Union was held on Friday and Davinder Choudhary was elected as President and he scored 299 votes.
Kulbir Singh got 283 votes and was elected as Vice President, Sanjay Sharma got 299 votes and was elected as General Secretary and Harjinder Singh got 296 votes and was elected as Cashier.
Of the total 509 votes, 506 votes were polled.
Senior BJP leader and former Mayor Rajinder Sharma was chief guest on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion he congratulated the winning team of taxi operators.
He said that PM Modi has started many welfare measures for transporters and drivers.
“Prices of petrol and diesel have been kept under control and many welfare schemes for driver community and other workers have been started,” Sharma said.
He said that in J&K the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has also ushered a friendly atmosphere for passenger vehicle operators.
“The BJP led government at the Centre under the visionary leadership of PM Modi and at J&K UT the welfare measures ushered by the LG Manoj Sinha have ensured livelihood with dignity for the drivers and transporters,” former Major maintained.
