JAMMU, Mar 23: On the occasion of 21st anniversary of Nadimarg massacre of 24 March 2003, the Arde Narishwar Trust Nadimarg organized a Shrandhanjali Sabha in memory of these martyrs here at Geeta Bhawan Muthi, today.
On the occasion glowing tribute were paid to these martyrs by people from all walks of life including political leaders, socio -religious activists. A large number of people participated and paid rich floral tribute to the martyrs.
Swami Kumar Ji paid floral tribute to these martyrs and performed Shanti Path while highlighting the philosophy of Karma Yoga.
The event was also attended by different prominent persons of the community and villagers of Nadimarg in particular. Among others Ajay Bharti, ex-MLC, M.K. Yogi, H.L. Bhat, Kuldeep Raina, R.L Pandita, Chand Ji Bhat and other people from different walks of life of the community.
It was on this day in 2003 when terrorist struck in the mid night in this village and killed these innocent people which includes 11 men, 11 women and 02 minor children. Kashmiri separatists movement against India has given Kashmiri Pandits blood ridden bodies and exodus as a gift for not toeing their line. Till date none of the perpetrators have been punished rather stories are made to satisfy that the alleged perpetrators have been killed in encounters of which in real no record exists.
Nadimarg is one of these incidents as an example that has torn apart the claim of fake co-existence and secularism which is being boosted by everyone in Kashmir whether from mainstream or from separatist camp. An incident in which 24 Kashmiri Pandits were killed in cold blooded by the men with arms holding the flag of so called resistance. An incident in which innocent victims were those who continued to live at their place even after majority of the community left the Kashmir Valley because of forced exodus. Since 19 years have passed but nothing has been done to punish the culprits and justice not provided in favor of the victims, because of the weak investigation and evidence of the State Government.
The proceedings were conducted by Sunny Mohan Sadhu and vote of thanks was presented by Chand Ji Kher.
Meanwhile, Ashok Bhan a noted Supreme Court Lawyer and a Kashmiri leader said how long the indigenous community has to wait for justice leading an exiled life for last 34 years.
He said KPs are longing to return to their homes and he urged the Government to prioritise this most important issue and unfold its plans for rehabilitation of 7.5 lakh exiled Pandits.
Remembering the martyrdom of 24 members of community in Nadimarg village on March 23 in 2003, he said these innocent people were shot dead one by one. He termed such carnages of minority community committed in Valley deadly massacres and genocide inflicted on native Kashmiris of a composite habitat.
