In 2015, Delhi Police’s special cell thwarted an assassination attempt on Mukhtar Ansari by arresting Lambu Sharma, hired by his rivals. Sharma, facing two death sentences, aimed to bomb the court during Ansari’s trial, but the plot was foiled.
