JAMMU, Mar 31: Ravinder Ravi, writer and news broadcaster has been awarded the Kashmir Education Culture and Science Society (KECSS) Award for his outstanding contribution in promoting the Kashmiri language.
The award was given to Ravi for his remarkable contribution to Kashmiri news broadcasting and literature by Justice (retd) Sanjay Krishen Koul in New Delhi today.
Ravi, a prolific news broadcaster, is presently heading the Kashmir News Unit in News Service Division, AIR New Delhi who was also running the Nepali unit for some time.
He has authored three books including two poetry collections. In addition most of his poems have been printed in various prestigious magazines and journals. Ravi was also awarded Sarva Shreshta Rachna Puraskar by the then Director General of news in 2014.
