Public role key in eradicating drug menace: Police

SRINAGAR, Mar 31: Police today emphasized the importance of public cooperation in the campaign and efforts aimed at eradicating the drug menace.
These remarks were made by the SDPO Kangan during a Nukkad Natak held under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan in Ganderbal.
“The cooperation of the people is pivotal to eradicating the severe menace of drugs from society,” he said.
He further emphasized that drug addiction is a social crime and urged participants to share all information related to drug peddling in their respective areas with the concerned police units, enabling the J&K Police to take strict action against them.
The event was held under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta, supervised by SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan.
It was attended by PRIs, respectable citizens, students, and the general public.
Renowned artist Rayees Wathoora of Tulkul Arts and Media Collective, along with musicians, presented Nukad Nataks, cultural skits, and drama shows, conveying a concrete message to participants to refrain from drugs and lead healthy lives.
At the end of the event, trophies and cash rewards were distributed among the artists for showcasing their talents, promoting the message, “Say no to Drugs & Yes to Life.”
