5 child labourers rescued in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, June 5: Five minors forced into child labour were rescued today by District Rescue team for child labour/child marriage/child abuse as it launched the second leg of rescue drive, here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai and SSP Joginder Singh, at MH and adjoining areas of district Udhampur.
District rescue team conducted a surprise visit to various locations including shops, Dhabas and Restaurants.
Rescue operation was led by Sapna, ALC, Kanika Gupta, DSWO along with Harikrishan, Child Helpline Coordinator, Medical Officer, Supervisor Poshan Project, Outreach worker DCPU, Case worker CHL, Medical Staff, Juvenile Police Officer.
The rescued boys were produced before CWC for rehabilitation and restoration and provided temporary shelter in Palaash (child care Institute for boys) Udhampur.
District Administration Udhampur has initiated concrete measures towards providing a safer environment for children under the ecosystem created by Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015.
