JAMMU: Tawi Trekkers J&K’s short trekking expeditions, which were being organized almost every fortnight but had to be suspended in the month of March because of surge in the pandemic, resumed with a small group of five trekkers leaving for Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh to undertake a trek to Triund, a serene meadow situated at an altitude of over 10000ft in the Dhauladhar range.
The team, being led by Sumit Khajuria, a senior mountaineer, included advisor of the club, Prof Lalit Magotra, president Ram Khajuria, senior member Sushil Singh and Ayush Sharma.
During the four days venture, the trekkers would trek the area around Macleodganj, Bhagsu Nag, Dal Lake, the waterfall and Dharamkot, popularly called mini Israel (preferred destination for Israeli tourists).
Finally, the trekkers would explore the Triund area for organizing high altitude trekking expeditions to Chamba valley for young boys and girls in the coming months.
