J&K reports 280 new Covid cases, 4 deaths

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded 280 Covid cases, 131 from the Jammu division and 149 from the Kashmir division, , thus taking the tally to 317761 in the Union Territory. Official said that four Corona related fatalities were reported during the past 24 hours, three from Jammu division and one from the Valley. Moreover, 419 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 197 from Jammu Division and 222 from Kashmir Division. Besides this, 90.78 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. The officials said that no confirmed case of Mucormycosis has been reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 30 in the UT of J&K.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 317761 positive cases, 3439 are Active Positive, 309973 have recovered and 4349 have died; 2123 in Jammu division and 2226 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 10379791 test results available, 10062030 samples have been tested as negative till today.
Till date 2505718 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 8754 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3439 in isolation and 253999 in home surveillance. Besides, 2235177 persons have completed their surveillance period.
