For making base of AAP strong across the nation, President AAP and Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is touring various States and promising free power & water. The free politics can no doubt win trust of people for sometime but will surely weaken economic position of the country. The populous politics and freebies is threatening economic foundations of the country but the Delhi Chief Minister is blindly using the policy of ‘free’ politics to earn some votes, which is really very unfortunate for our developing country. Actually, free politics has no place in the country but some political leaders are resorting to policy of free politics just to win some votes in the elections without having any regard to interests of the country. Free politics is not economically feasible and viable option and as such the political leaders should not do free politics for the sake of few votes. The populous schemes and free politics of Kejriwal will no doubt attract votes but the free politics will burden the tax payers with excess taxes and thus it should not be resorted to in the interest of the nation. The subsidies and free politics weaken will economic health of country and as such the politicians should think twice before doling free water and electricity to consumers. One wonders from where they, who promise free power & water and also want to continue the subsidies on various items, will get money for these subsidies and free water & power supply. After all such populous politics is not in interest of the country. No doubt it will add some votes to your kitty but in the long run will not attract votes anymore as people are wise enough to differentiate between free politics and populous schemes viz as viz hard economic decisions of political establishment. The economically hard decisions will, in fact, be in interest of the nation and people should be ready to go with these decisions and should be ready to pay more for goods and services. After all the freebies will only burden the exchequer and final burden will have to be borne by the common man and as such there is no place for free politics in the electoral battle. Kejriwal has given free water and free electricity to people of Delhi and now he is promising free water and power to consumers of Punjab and far-off Goa. Kejriwal has assured 24×7 free electricity to Goa, if elected. He has also promised remission of outstanding electricity bills if voted to power. Since in a democracy, votes and numbers matter more and so some political parties and political leaders are promising free electricity upto 300 units and free water to the consumers, and Kejriwal is heading the list without thinking of ill effects of these freebies. This is really very unfortunate and disturbing. Now Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi party) and former Chief Minister of UP is also promising free electricity to the people of state upto 300 units. He also assured ten thousand jobs to educated youth of the state. No doubt, free politics will attract some votes to the AAP but it in the long run will not help the party to gain the seats required and therefore there is no place for the free politics in our developing economy and the politicians should know this truth and accordingly pursue their political ambitions. Free politics and populous schemes are not in the interest of the country but such politics is done by Delhi chief minister for the ulterior and selfish motives. People should see to it that national economy is not badly affected by such free and populous schemes. Therefore without wasting time Kejriwal and such other political leaders should see the reality and desist from using politics of freebies in our developing economy. The free politics is akin to robbing poor consumers as it is going to burden people in the long run. Free politics of Kejriwal and others of his like will not sustain for long time, as such all those who advocate free politics and populous schemes should desist from politics of freebies as this is not going to help you in the long run. Though in the short run, Kejriwal and such other leaders who advocate the free electricity and free water will gain some votes which will translate into seats but it is not going to help them in the long run. Any way Kejriwal and other proponents of the freebies should desist from free politics in the interest of the nation. But will they do so, is a moot question.
