POONCH: The first ever Referee clinic, conducted by Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK), concluded, here with the holding of valedictory function.
In the closing event, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Inderjeet was Chief Guest, who appreciated the Club for the dedicated efforts to promote the game of volleyball in remote and hilly district.
He complimented the participants for updating their technical knowledge.
Earlier, the DDC was welcomed and received by the Patron-in-Chief of the VAJK, Raj Daluja and Chairman of the organising Club, Mohd Tariq.
In total, 42 referees took part in this week-long clinic under the technical guidance of international referee, Rameshwar Chauhan.
Also present at the valedictory function, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the VAJK, Kuldeep Magotra briefed the gathering about the idea of involving more and more senior players into officiating through such referee clinics.
Among those prominent present were R C Sharma (Treasurer VAJK), Krishan Lal Sharma (Secretary District Volleyball Association Poonch), Mulana Sayeed Habib (Chairman Jamia Zai ul Uloom High School), Waheed Banday, Pradeep Khanna, Mohd Qasim (DYSSO Poonch), Zamood Ahmed, Prof. Jagbir Singh and Ramiz Tariq (Volleyball coach).
