JAMMU: Professional spiker from district Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir, Saqlain Tariq made everyone back home feel proud of the honour he received at the hands of Indian Navy.
Unlike back home, this international player was made chief guest on the occasion of inauguration of sports facilities at Chikla in Odisha, recently.
Saqlain has joined the Indian Navy as Petting Officer and presently posted in Odisha.
In front of his senior officers in uniform, Saqlain unveiled the inaugural stone and found his name carved on the plat.
“What the Indian Navy has done is the really honour of a sportsperson. The moment really made us feel proud of Saqlain, who, with his dedication and hardwork, has achieved the ultimate goal of becoming an international player. Such gestures encourage youngsters to aim at higher sports goals in life,” said Saqlain’s father, Mohd Tariq.
