KATHUA: Police on Monday rescued seven persons who were trapped in flash floods in Kathua.
As per the details, an information was received through reliable source that few persons were stuck in the flash flood due to the heavy rainfall occurred in the hilly areas as a result of which flood came in the Tarnah River. As input, these three persons namely Pawan Kumar, son of Satpaul, resident of Dyalachak Hiranagar; Naresh Kumar, son of Balbir Dass, resident of Chhani Tehsil Marheen and Kapal Dev, son of Sardhan, resident of Nepal visited at early morning time and got stranded in the said flood namely.
While in another instance 4 more fisherman were stuck in the said flood in Ujh River namely Karan Anuragi, son of Sham Lal; Ramesh, son of Suresh; Sangar, son of Nandu and Sandip, son of Heera Lal, resident of Padyari. On this different team of Police Station Rajbagh and Police Post Chadwal under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan swung into the action on the directions of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal, along with the team of SDRF immediately reached on spot and rescued three persons from flash flood from Tarnah river and four from Ujh River.
