AKHNOOR: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor trounced Sunderbani XI by six wickets in the final of three matches series Friendship Cup, played at Government Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, here on Friday.
Earlier, Sunderbani XI won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the Sunderbani XI scored 111 runs in 23.3 overs for the loss of ten wickets .
Atul Sharma made 32 runs while Micky and Pankaj Kumar contributed 19 and 16 runs respectively to the total. From bowling side, S. S. Langeh grabbed three wickets while Sunil Kumar and Abhinandan Sharma got two wickets each and Binny Kesar bagged one wicket.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor chased the target comfortably making 116 runs for the loss og four wickets in 16.1 overs.
Nittin Verma made highest 44 runs while Sahil Mishra scored 29 runs and Abhi Verma and Bhupinder Singh contributed 16 and 13 runs respectively to the total.
From bowling side, Micky got two wickets while Piyush and Rohit Sharma took one wicket each.
S.S. Langeh was declared as Man of the Match and Sunil Bendy as Man of the Series. The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali were umpires and Rahul Gupta acted as scorer.
Rajinder Sharma (President Management Little Flower High School Akhnoor) was the Chief Guest and Vinod Sharma (Manager Sunderbani XI) was Guest of Honour.
They distributed prizes among the players and praised the organizers for organizing such events.
The three-match series was organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (General Secretary District Jammu JKCA).
